Anxiety & ADHD Therapy for Moms in Portland, Oregon
Helping High-Capacity Moms Transform Emotional Overwhelm into Calm, Confidence, and Joy
To empower professional moms, moms working from home, and full-time stay-at-home moms, to regulate their emotions, foster meaningful family connections, and create joyful, harmonious homes.
I work with a limited number of clients each week to ensure depth and consistency.
Specializing in anxiety, ADHD, and emotional regulation for high-achieving moms. Moms with perhaps undiagnosed anxiety, or attention deficit/hyperactive disorder (ADD/ADHD) themselves, with highly-sensitive person (HSP) qualities. Moms who were told, “You are too sensitive,” as a tween themselves. Maybe you are an empath—someone who feels so much and absorbs the feelings of your child so deeply.
You're Tired of Reacting. You're Ready to Be Calm.
You keep reacting instead of responding to your tween crisis (the latest bootie shorts trend, the sudden meltdowns, the policing of excessive screen-use), followed by waves of guilt & shame.
You know you need to heal your own childhood wounds (maybe you have a distant relationship with your own mom, and fear your relationship with your tween will get worse in the future) but feel overwhelmed trying to start the inner work. What does inner child work even mean?
You replay every conversation when your tween flips out, or shuts down searching for what you did wrong, & find it hard to trust your instincts. How come parenting is so hard? What am I doing wrong? How can I make this better?
You're arguing with your partner about the same old issues such as who is finding the therapist or the orthodontist, why can’t I just take my child shopping without a meltdown, or how come we can’t just get out the door in the morning without a fight? Hence this family of walking on eggshells and disconnection feels like your norm.
You feel like you have to constantly wear a mask because you're afraid others will see you're struggling. You walk on egg-shells around your child. One minute they say, “I hate you, you are the worst mom ever!” to the next minute they are avoiding school because they hate the teacher.
You’ve come to the right place for things to get better.
Hi, I’m Rachel, and I can help.
I pick up where other therapists leave off. Clients often come to me highly aware, having read all the books such as “Good Inside,” “The Whole-Brain Child,” or “Lost at School.” Maybe you are an active listener of parent coaching podcasts or have email after email from top parent influencers only to still feel exhausted yet again and back at square one.
You see your child's bold and incredible qualities, but these also lead to constantly active and sometimes disruptive behavior (AKA hyperactivity), the ability to remain calm, cope with big emotions, adapt, and respond appropriately to our environment (AKA self-regulation difficulties), and impulse control issues such as difficulty some children have in stopping themselves from engaging in certain behaviors. Common examples include: lying, stealing, aggressive behavior toward others making everyday interactions with your tween intense and exhausting to the point of wanting to run-away, hide, or yell back at them.
It shouldn't be this hard.
I offer a gentle yet powerful path, so you can finally lead your family from your calm, regulated center.
I am a psychotherapist and parenting expert committed to helping high-achieving moms build healthier relationships with their children and themselves. My work focuses on addressing the ineffective behaviors, habits, and ingrained beliefs that often make mothering harder than it needs to be. For example, staying in the argument too long just makes it worse. Why is that? Why can’t my child just listen the first time?
