IFS Therapy in Portland, Oregon for Anxiety & Attachment
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy in Portland, Oregon for high-achieving moms navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and parenting overwhelm, available online across Oregon.
Internal Family Systems + Ideal Parent Figure work to heal inner child wounds, repair attachment, and set healthy boundaries.
IFS & Attachment Therapy
Sometimes the parts of you that overthink, shut down, overgive, or explode aren’t flaws, they’re protectors. And underneath them are younger parts still carrying unmet needs, old wounds, or attachment pain.
This work helps you understand and heal from the inside out.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
In our Portland-based and online Oregon sessions, IFS gently helps you connect with the different “parts” of you, the inner critic, the people-pleaser, the overwhelmed parent, the anxious partner, with compassion instead of judgment. As protective patterns soften, your core Self can lead with clarity, calm, and confidence.
Ideal Parent Figure (IPF) Work
Through guided attachment repair, IPF supports healing for those navigating estrangement, boundary-setting, or early relational wounds. This approach helps your nervous system internalize a felt sense of safety, attunement, and secure support, even if you didn’t consistently receive it growing up.
Secure Attachment Work
Build healthier relationships without abandoning yourself. Strengthen boundaries, reduce anxiety in connection, and move from survival-based reactions to grounded, secure relating.

Our Process
-

Create Safety First
We begin by slowing things down and establishing emotional safety. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), we help your nervous system settle so you feel grounded, supported, and ready to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, without overwhelm or judgment.
-

Collaborate with Your Inner System
You are the expert on your inner world. Together, we gently identify and work with the parts of you that drive anxiety, reactivity, perfectionism, or shutdown. Nothing is forced, each step is collaborative, transparent, and paced to your needs.
-

Heal at Your Pace
IFS therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We adapt the work session by session, responding to what your system needs in real time. This flexibility allows deep healing of trauma, attachment wounds, and emotional triggers, without pushing or re-traumatizing.
-

Integrate with Confidence
As protective patterns soften and wounded parts receive care, you’ll experience more calm, clarity, and self-leadership. The work doesn’t end in session, you leave with an embodied sense of trust in yourself and tools that support lasting change in daily life and relationships.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
IFS therapy helps you understand and heal the different “parts” inside you, like the parts that feel anxious, overwhelmed, reactive, or shut down. These parts aren’t problems; they’re trying to protect you.
Together, we gently get to know these parts with curiosity and compassion, rather than pushing them away. As we explore where they came from, often rooted in childhood or attachment experiences, you’ll begin to understand your reactions instead of being controlled by them.
As trust builds, wounded parts can release old pain, and protective parts can relax. Over time, you experience more calm, clarity, and self-leadership, both internally and in your relationships.
IFS therapy helps high-achieving moms heal childhood trauma, reduce emotional triggers and mom rage, and parent from a calmer, more connected place. -
Yes. IFS therapy works very well online. Many people feel even safer and more grounded doing IFS from home, where supportive objects, pets, or loved ones may be nearby. Research and clinical experience show that online IFS is just as effective as in-person therapy.
-
IFS is a great fit if you struggle in your relationship with yourself. If you have a strong inner critic, feel easily triggered, or notice yourself avoiding conflict, pain, or vulnerability, IFS can help. You’ll learn why these patterns developed and how to gently shift them, allowing your inner critic to step back and a calmer, more confident part of you to lead.

We’ll begin with a 20-minute consultation ($25) to meet, discuss what you’re looking for, and see if we’re a good fit. The therapist–client relationship matters, and if either of us feels it’s not the right match, I’m happy to offer referrals.
If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule an initial 80-minute intake session, followed by ongoing 53-minute sessions, and tailor the pace from there.
